Get Pure, Safe Drinking Water on Tap with a Home Master Reverse Osmosis System

Home Master water filter systems can provide you with pure drinking water; their advanced technology filters out up to 99.9% of heavy metals, solids, and other contaminants. Some models have specialized filters that even eliminate iron and microorganisms! If you are ready to start drinking clean water, High Water Standard can help. We service all five NYC boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and the Bronx), in addition to North New Jersey and Long Island.

At High Water Standard, we know the water filter business inside and out. We provide Home Master reverse osmosis water filter installation, as well as routine repair and maintenance. If you’re located in NYC, North New Jersey, or Long Island, come to us with all of your water filtration needs.

How Do Home Master Reverse Osmosis Water Filters Work?

Home Master reverse osmosis can make your drinking water safe and delicious – but how? We’ll break it down for you. Because of the RO systems’ advanced filtration (ranging from 6 steps to 9 steps), up to 99% of contaminants can be removed.

The systems use built-in filter housing, which lets you make easy filter changes on an annual basis. Due to the Fast Flow RO kit that’s included in each system, you can essentially double the flow rate of a standard RO system.

Another thing to take note of is that each RO system uses a catalytic carbon filtration media inside of the carbon pre-filter. This treats chloramine, which is commonly found in municipally-treated water. Some Home Master RO models add calcium and magnesium ions into the water, letting you get pure mineral water with a great taste straight from the tap.

While Home Master reverse osmosis systems are designed to be compatible with DIY installations, we understand that not everybody has the time or the experience necessary for such an important project. What’s more, unforeseen repairs or maintenance may be unavoidable.

At High Water Standard, our team of experts can do the hard work for you. We have over 15 years of experience serving residents of NYC, North New Jersey, and Long Island. High Water Standard can also provide you with insurance and an extended warranty for your Home Master RO system.

Now, let’s take a look at each of the Home Master Water Filters.

Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection and TMHP-L

The Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection and TMHP-L are two of the most efficient and advanced filtration models on the market. Let’s take a look at both of them and see why they are a great choice for providing you with pure, safe, and delicious water on tap.

Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection

The Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection is a highly advanced 9-stage water filtration system with a modular design. It comes equipped with a Fast Flow RO! Kit, which brings the filter’s efficiency up to twice as much as traditional RO systems. The Hydroperfection’s included permeate pump will also reduce water wastage by an impressive 80%.

This model has a waste: water ratio of 1:1. The Hydroperfection removes iron, destroys microorganisms, and eliminates up to 99% of dissolved solids, heavy metals, and chemicals.

It even utilizes full contact technology, which adds magnesium and calcium to the water during the purification process, so that you can enjoy mineral water on tap. The Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection filter will last for 1 year or for 2,000 filtered gallons. The system can filter 75 gallons of water per day.

Home Master TMHP-L

The Home Master TMHP-L is very similar to the Hydroperfection; the ‘L’ stands for “Loaded”, meaning that the system comes loaded with a fridge connection kit, a Filmtec High Hardness RO membrane, and a luxury Brushed Nickel RO faucet.

So, what exactly can the TMHP-L’s additions bring to the table? Well, the specialized Filmtec membrane is able to withstand water hardness from drought-affected municipal water supplies, which typically leads to early membrane failure. You can extend the lifetime of your system because of the Filmtec filter.

What’s more, the fridge kit is able to deliver pure water to fridge centers, and the 360-degree swivel RO faucet is a delight to use.

Installation

Both the TMHP Hydroperfection and the TMHP-L models come pre-assembled for your convenience. Let’s take a look at what exactly you will receive in the box.

TMHP Hydroperfection

  • Fully Assembled Unit (including sediment, iron/catalytic carbon, UV, and Home Master artesian filters + thin film composite membrane)
  • UV Filter
  • Drain Saddle
  • Flow Restriction Architecture
  • Reserve Tank
  • Easy Adapter Ball Valve
  • Long Reach Sink Faucet
  • Full Contact Hardware
  • Fast Flow Ro Kit
  • Permeate Pump

TMHP-L

  • Fully Assembled Unit (including filters and 75 GPD Filmtec Hard Water Membrane)
  • Refrigerator Connection Kit
  • Brushed Nickel RO Faucet and Adapter + 110v Power Supply
  • Drain Saddle
  • 3/8 Inch Feed Water Adapter + Shut Off Valve
  • 3.2 Gallon Storage Tank
  • Instructions

Maintenance

Once per year, you will need to perform Home Master TMHP maintenance by inspecting tubing and fittings for any leakage, making sure the tank pressure is at 7 psi, and sanitizing the system. You should replace the TMHP models’ ISet-TMHP-MY12 during Years 1&2, the UVFilter3 and ISetTMFe8-A every 3 years, and the membranes every 3-5 years.

Repair

Minor TMHP repair scenarios are outlined in the Instructions. Here is an example of one that can easily be troubleshooted:

  • Metal fitting leaks. Unscrew the fittings and re-tape the male fitting. Wind Teflon tape 5-7 times around the male thread, being sure not to cover the opening. Re-tighten the fitting securely, but do not over-tighten it.

Home Master TMAFC, TMAFC-ERP, and TMAFC-ERP-L

Before we dive into what these filtration systems can offer you, let’s break down the names. The Home Master TMAFC is the Artesian Full Contact Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System, whereas the Home Master TMAFC-ERP is the same system but with a permeate pump. The TMAFC-ERP-L is the Artesian system “loaded” with extras in addition to the permeate pump. We can confidently say that the Home Master Artesian Reverse Osmosis System is one of the best undersink water filters. Let’s see why that is.

Home Master TMAFC – Artesian Undersink Water Filter

The Home Master TMAFC Artesian 7 stage system filters water through 7 steps, removing up to 98% of sediment, heavy metals, and other contaminants. Filter changes are required once per year – or once every 2,500 gallons. The TMAFC Artesian delivers exceptional purification, while also restoring magnesium ions and calcium back to the water, in order to produce balance mineral tap water.

Use the Home Master TMAFC Artesian system if you want smooth, delicious, pH-balanced tap water at a lower price. The TMAFC has a daily water production of 50 gallons and a waste: water ratio of 4:1. The unit does not destroy microorganisms or remove iron. You will only need to replace the TMAFC filter once every 2,000 filtered gallons or once a year.

Home Master TMAFC-ERP – Artesian Full Contact with Permeate Pump

The Home Master TMAFC-ERP comes equipped with a permeate pump, which will reduce 80% of water wastage (bringing it to a 1:1 ratio) and increase the system’s efficiency by up to 50% (increasing the GPD to 75).

Home Master TMAFC-ERP-L – Artesian Reverse Osmosis System with Permeate Pump, LOADED

Not only does the Home Master TMAFC-ERP-L use a permeate pump, which reduces water wastage, but it also comes with extras like the faucet upgrade and the refrigerator kit. As with the TMAFC-ERP, this model has a 1:1 water/waste ratio and can filter 75 gallons per day.

Installation

The Home Master TMAFC-ERP installation (and the Loaded version) requires a bit more effort than that of the TMAFC, because you will need to mount the permeate pump. For instructions on mounting the optional permeate pump, refer to the Home Master TMAFC-ERP manual.

Here’s what you receive in the box for each model:

Home Master TMAFC Artesian

  • Fully assembled unit (with TFC membrane and filters)
  • 3.2 gallon Storage Tank
  • Long Reach Sink Faucet and Hardware
  • EZ Feed Water Adapter, 3/8”
  • Full Contact Hardware
  • Drain Saddle
  • Instructions

Home Master TMAFC-ERP

  • Contains all of the components of standard TMAFC, plus a permeate pump

Home Master TMAFC-ERP-L

  • Fully Assembled Unit (including filters and 75 GPD Filmtec Hard Water Membrane)
  • Permeate Pump
  • Refrigerator Connection Kit
  • Brushed Nickel RO Faucet and Adapter + 110v Power Supply
  • Drain Saddle
  • 3/8 Inch Feed Water Adapter + Shut Off Valve
  • 3.2 Gallon Storage Tank

Maintenance

Home Master Artesian models need to undergo standard maintenance (system sanitization, tube inspection, and so on) on an annual basis. The ISetTMA8 will need to be replaced annually, and the membranes should be replaced every 3-5 years.

Repair

For a full list of troubleshooting scenarios, refer to the manual. One common problem you may run into is plastic fitting leaks. These should be finger tightened. Under tightening can lead to leaks, but overtightening may cause a water blockage. For plastic fitting leaks, check to make sure that there is an insert in the plastic tube’s end and that there’s feral in the plastic female fitting.

Home Master TM and TM-ERP-L

The innovative design of the Home Master TM allows it to reduce common problems of traditional RO systems (water wastage, leakage, slow flow rate, etc.) while still being available at a highly affordable price. The TM is one of Home Master’s most basic filtration systems, making it an excellent option for households on a budget.

Home Master TM – Undersink Reverse Osmosis System

The system removes up to 99% of dissolved solids, heavy metals, and chemicals. Its GPD water production is 50, and it has a 4:1 waste/water ratio. It’s quite similar to the TMAFC model, except it does not add minerals to the water. The TM filter only needs to be changed once per 3,900 gallons or on an annual basis.

Home Master TM-ERP-L – Reverse Osmosis System with Permeate Pump, Loaded

If you want to increase the GPD production of the Home Master TM while also reducing water wastage, the TM-ERP-L can do this for you. The non-electric permeate pump will bring the GPD production up to 75, and the waste/water ratio will be reduced to 1:1. What’s more, this system comes “loaded” with extras.

Installation

Rest assured, you won’t need a plumber to install the TM or the TM-ERP-L. These systems are designed to be installed by homeowners, and the units even come fully pre-assembled. When you install push-in filter replacements, it couldn’t be easier – you don’t even need a wrench!

What’s in the box?

TM

  • Fully Assembled Purification Unit (with filters and TFC RO membrane)
  • Storage Tank
  • 3/8-Inch Feed Water Adapter + Shut Off
  • Chrome Faucet and Adapter
  • Drain Saddle
  • Instructions

TM-ERP-L

  • Fully Assembled Unit (including filters and 75 GPD Filmtec Hard Water Membrane)
  • Permeate Pump
  • Refrigerator Connection Kit
  • Brushed Nickel RO Faucet and Adapter + 110v Power Supply
  • Drain Saddle
  • 3/8 Inch Feed Water Adapter + Shut Off Valve
  • 3.2 Gallon Storage Tank

Maintenance

The TM systems will need routine inspection maintenance once per year. Replace the membrane every 3-5 years and the ISetTM8 on an annual basis.

Repair

One minor repair issue you may run into with the TM and its TM ERP-L counterpart is fine air bubbles. This can happen when a new system is installed. Air is trapped inside the pores of the carbon and is gradually released. All you have to do is wait a few seconds for the water to clear after you’ve poured a glass of water.

TMULTRA, TMULTRA-ERP, and TMULTRA-ERP-L

As with the other models, the TMULTRA is the basic package, whereas the TMULTRA-ERP comes with a permeate pump. The TMULTRA-ERP-L is equipped with both a non-electric permeate pump and extra features (like a fridge kit and a faucet upgrade).

Home Master TMULTRA – Ultra Undersink Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System

At a glance, what does the Home Master TMULTRA do? This highly advanced filter can remove 99.99% of microorganisms, iron, heavy metals, solids, and other contaminants. Because it comes with an Iron prefilter and a UV filter, this system is perfect for well water.

The system is long-lasting; you just need to change the filter once per year or every 2,000 gallons. We would recommend this system if you use well water or a natural water source. The standard Home Master TMULTRA Ultra RO Undersink Reverse Osmosis System produces 50 gallons per day and has a 4:1 waste/water ratio.

Home Master TMULTRA-ERP – Reverse Osmosis System with Permeate Pump

By adding the permeate pump to the TMULTRA, you can enjoy the highly advanced purification while also increasing GPD production to 75 and reducing the waste/water ratio to 1:1.

Home Master TMULTRA-ERP-L – Reverse Osmosis System with Permeate Pump, Loaded

Enjoy all of the above benefits, plus added perks like a Filmtec Hard Water Membrane and a refrigerator connection kit!

Installation

The entire Home Master TMULTRA installation can typically be done in less than one hour. The filter comes pre-assembled, and the installation kit will contain everything you’ll need – but, to be safe, it never hurts to keep a drill, a crescent wrench, and a Philips screwdriver nearby.

Here’s what you will receive in the box when you purchase one of these models:

Home Master TMULTR

  • Fully assembled unit (with TFC membrane and filters)
  • 3.2 gallon Storage Tank
  • Long Reach Sink Faucet and Hardware
  • EZ Feed Water Adapter, 3/8”
  • Full Contact Hardware
  • Drain Saddle
  • Instructions

Home Master TMULTRA-ERP

  • Contains all of the components of standard TMULTRA, plus a permeate pump

Home Master TMULTRA-ERP-L

  • Fully Assembled Unit (including filters and 75 GPD Filmtec Hard Water Membrane)
  • Permeate Pump
  • Refrigerator Connection Kit
  • Brushed Nickel RO Faucet and Adapter + 110v Power Supply
  • Drain Saddle
  • 3/8 Inch Feed Water Adapter + Shut Off Valve
  • 3.2 Gallon Storage Tank

Maintenance

The Home Master TMULTRA maintenance schedule requires you to inspect tubings, check tank pressure, and sanitize the system on an annual basis. You should also replace the UVFilter3 and the ISETTMFe8 on Year 3. The TMULTRA membranes need to be replaced every 3-5 years.

Repair

One Home Master Ultra repair you might need to make is fixing odd noises. If you hear troublesome groaning sounds, you can pull the system off of the mounting clips, rotate it to the left by 90 degrees, and hold it there for 10 minutes. Then, hold it to the right for another 10 minutes. This should clear out air bubbles and fix the noise.

Which Home Master Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System Is the Best?

The Home Master TMHP Hydroperfection, and its loaded counterpart, is the only Home Master RO system that can remove iron, destroy microorganisms, filter out 99% of solids, chemicals, and metals, while also producing mineral water on tap. If you want the ultimate water filtration experience, we would highly recommend this model.

If you still aren’t sure which kind best meets your needs, give a call to High Water Standard specialists. We have over a decade of experience, and we would be happy to provide a consultation for residents of North New Jersey, NYC, or Long Island.

How to Replace a Home Master Water Filter

After installing a Home Master Water Filter, you should install a filter replacement on an annual basis. Of course, to save time and effort, just reach out to us; one of our experts can save you the trouble and do the replacement themselves. However, if you are set on doing it by yourself, follow these steps:

  1. First, buy the replacement filter cartridge for your specific system model.
  2. Clear a workspace under the sink near where you have the RO system installed.
  3. Close the water valve that’s feeding into the RO. For certain models, disconnect the power adapter.
  4. Close the reserve tank valve and depressurize the system.
  5. Pull the Home Master RO system off of its mounting clips and lay it on a towel.
  6. Pull off the first filter that you will be replacing (it’s best to work with one filter at a time).
  7. Use your thumb and forefinger to push down the collet ring while also pulling the tubing. Trim ¼” from the tubing’s end, and make sure it is smooth and rounded.
  8. Insert the tube approximately ¼” into the replacement filter. Repeat for the other end of the filter & then do the same process for each of the remaining replacement filters.
  9. Remount the RO system. Dry any leftover water pooling at the fittings.
  10. Slowly reopen the main water line and wait for the water to begin trickling out. This could take anywhere from 2-20 minutes.
  11. Once the water trickle is running clear, close the faucet’s lever and let the system pressurize.
  12. Dry the unit once more, check for leaks, and then open the valve of the reserve tank, letting it fill up. This may take 3 hours.
  13. Once the tank has filled, close the feed valve and open the RO faucet. When the water has drained, reopen the feed valve, thus letting the system refill again.

If the installation process sounds too time-consuming, let the experts at High Water Standard handle it for you.

FAQ

What makes the Home Master better than other reverse osmosis systems?

Standard reverse osmosis systems utilize canister filter housing, in which only filters are changed – not the housing themselves. Over time, this can lead to a buildup of sediment, biofilm, and microorganisms. Over time, the canisters will weaken and inevitably fail, potentially leading to water damage and expensive home repairs.

Due to the Home Master’s modular design, the housing is changed out along with the filter, thus allowing you to eliminate leaks and reduce buildup. What’s more, Home Master’s filters last longer than normal RO filters. You’ll only have to change them once per year.

What are the differences in the various Home Master models?

As seen in the table above, some Home Master models remove iron and microorganisms, while others do not. Additionally, some models add minerals to the water. However, each system removes 99% of dissolved chemicals, metals, and chemicals through the RO filter’s highly advanced multi-step purification system.

What contaminants can Home Master reverse osmosis remove?

Home Master RO systems can remove common tap water contaminants such as Arsenic V, Barium, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Cysts, Fluoride, Lead, Nitrates, Radium, Selenium, and Turbidity. RO carbon filtration can also remove a huge number of chemical contaminants, such as antifreeze, bleach, chlorine, detergents, gasoline, lactic acid, and many more.

Can I mount the Home Master RO in the basement?

While Home Master RO systems are designed for undersink installations, they can also be installed in the basement. Just keep in mind that you will need some extra tubing in order to do so.
